Gummy Awards
Steregum's 2008 Gummy Awards are now open. Let's vote for Howl - even if Empires only gets a tiny percentage of a percentage, maybe the folks at Stereogum will go, "Hey, who is this?". Here's our chance to get their name out there a little!

Chicago Tribune

"Empires came out of the gate strong and have showed no signs of letting up," says Benetti. "[They play] solid, well-written pop music that is exciting enough for younger folks and sophisticated enough for the most jaded of adults. That's not so common these days."
Empires perform at Subterranean on Dec. 21 at 6:30pm; $8 advance, $10 day of show.
(Benetti is the talent booker for House Call Entertainment, which does Subterranean and Beat Kitchen.)

If you can, check out the "On the Town" section of today's print edition of the Chicago Tribune. I'll post details later.
