1) Empires will be out on the East coast later this month. If you're a college student and your school likes to have bands play, track down a student activities coordinator and put them in touch with Empires at empires.music AT gmail - dates with possibility are October 19th, 20th, 23rd, 25th and 26th.

2) Anyone out there a talented graphic designer? I'm thinking it's time to change the homepage here a little bit and I need some help. Shoot me an email at meebs0619 AT gmail if you're into that sort of thing.

3) The guys are still looking for 2,000 followers on Twitter if you're not there already. If you are, make your friends join. All of them!

The show at Schubas last night was amazing. I wish you all could have been there to hear the new songs. Hopefully I'll track down some video soon.

This "Blue Crush" video is from May's Bottom Lounge show, but it's the best one I've found where you can actually hear the words.

Tom has contributed a mix CD to the 7th Annual Music Mixer, which will be held August 21st (next Friday) at the Metro Smart Bar in Chicago. To bid online for the CD, click here. Bidding starts at $20! Tom's mix is artists covering other artists - Flaming Lips covering Queen, Cat Power covering Velvet Underground, Nirvana covering The Vaselines... to name a few.

Admission to Taste of Chicago is free. Admission to Summerfest is $8 before 4pm, and $15 after. On the date that Empires is playing, the first 1,500 patrons will receive one free admission ticket when presenting an original receipt that specifies the purchase of any two Malt-O-Meal Bag Cereals 10 oz. or larger, receipt must be dated between June 25th and July 3rd. Admission to Wicker Park Fest is a $5 donation.
